Maynard (Kokesh), Phyllis of Excelsior, passed away May 18, 2009. Born April 13, 1937. A proud member of the Hopkins class of "55". She enjoyed lifelong friendships with many of her classmates and especially the group of Can't Agrees. As a young girl, she spent summers helping out on the Kokesh family farm in Minnetonka. Her high school years found her working at the family's fruit and vegetable market near Excelsior. After graduating from the Minnesota School of Business, she worked as a legal assistant for over 50 years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and a good game of bridge. She also loved to travel with her husband and friends, visiting many locations around the world. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 23 at the Cremation Society of MN Chapel, 7110 France Ave. S., Edina (952-924-4100). Visitation at 10:30 AM, followed by the service at 11:30 AM and lunch following. Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, Phil and Mary Kokesh; son, Eric Halverson.
