General Notes: Joseph made his life work serving in the Prussian Army, and served with the customs service at a line of Military Posts. He was also a laborer and was listed as a cottager and stone mason in Brandlin in 1858. In 1870, because of health reasons, and after being discharged from the Army, the family came to America where their daughter Frances lived. Their ship was attacked by pirates on the journey to America and many belongings were thrown overboard to make the ship lighter so they could out run the pursuing pirates. The family lived in Red Oak, Iowa after coming to America and ultimately ended up in the state of Kansas. The received their homstead rights in 1883. Because of Joseph's ill health his son, Frank built the home and other buildings, but before the home was finished, Joseph passed away. It is believed that his was the first burial in Kopsa's cemetery, which is now the Bohemian National Cemetery. from the notes of ModenaG1 on ancestry.com

Mrs. Foote was born Feb. 6, 1914, at Agenda, the daughter
of Frank Ralph and Mary Marie (Trecek) Doupnik.
She was a bookkeeper at Farmers Cooperative. She married
Emerson Foote Friday, Aug. 13, 1948 at Lyndow, Kan. She was
a member of the United Methodist Church and the American
Legion Auxiliary, both of Linn. She was on the church board
and historian of the church. She was preceded in death by
her husband, Emerson Foote March 15, 1957; four sisters,
Elenora Denk, Frances Leshosky, Anne Price and Helen
Thompson; five brothers, Ben Doupnik, Charles Doupnik, Ed
Doupnik, Jack Doupnik and Joe Doupnik; and two half
brothers.
A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the
United Methodist Church in Linn with the Rev. Phil Morris
officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Liberty Cemetery in
Oakhill.
Friends may call from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ward
Funeral Home in Linn.
A memorial fund has been established.

NaDeane C. Fulcomer, daughter of Sanford and Gladys Alexander Hazen, born February 27, 1919. NaDeane grew up at the Seapo Mil in Wayne and had many pets including a skunk named Sophie. She was out going, a cheerleader, in school plays, and Vice President of her class her senior year. She graduated from Belleville High School in 1937. She was a secretary for Curtis Collins. She was a member of the United Methodist Chruch, Eastern Star, American Legion Auxilary, As you Like it, Ladies Isis Shrine, and women's coffee club. In 1942 NaDeane married Paul G. Fulcomer in Reno, Nevada. Paul was a flight instructor in the Army Air Force in WWII and they were stationed in Douglas, Arizona. While in Douglas, she learned to cook Mexican food. Years later, Paul and NaDeane would make her famous tacos and frijoles at their annual New Years Day parties. After the was, in 1942, Paul and NaDeane returned to Belleville where Paul worked at the Peoples National Bank with his father the late Paul J. Fulcomer. In May of 1954 Paul and NaDeane adopted a daughter, Pamela Claire when she was 3 days old. Paul and NaDeane adored Pam. NaDeane was a beautiful seamstress, and made the most elaborate outfits for Pam, plus countless Barbie Doll clothes. She was also involved with Pam in Bible School, Brownies, Girl Scouts and Rainbow Girls. NaDeane enjoyed boating and camping with Paul and Pam. she loved traveling and went to many bank conventions with Paul. In January of 1983, whe was thrilled when Pam and Scott Stephenson were married. After Paul's death in 1984, NaDeane enjoyed travel to military conventions with her special friend Bob Cooper, Fort Worth, Texas. She would always bring home souvenirs for ther grandchildren Cati (Kitten) and Brad (the little fella). NaDeane also enjoyed entertaining. She and Bob hosted many Christmas parties at NaDeane's home. She was also well known for the felt Christmas ornaments she designed for friends for 37 years. NaDeane loved Christmas. Her home was beautifully decorated with both her handmade decoration and those purchased while traveling. NaDeane will be remembered for her classy look. Hair, makeup, fancy jewelry, clothes and shoes were always accessorized with at least 3 inch earrings. In 2002 NaDeane moved to Leawood to live with daughter Pam and son-in-law Scott. Even throgh it was hard leaving her home, she never complaianed. We were blessled to take care of NaDeane these 5 1/2 years. NaDeane is survived by her daugher Pamela (Scott) Stephenson, and grandchildren Bradley Stephenson of Leawood, Kansas, Caitlin (Joel) Beam of San Diego, California.

Clare married Paul Gene FULCOMER, son of Paul J. FULCOMER and Faye. Paul was born on February 11, 1921 in Kansas, died in December 1984 in Bellville(REPUBLIC)KS at age 63, and was buried in December 1984.
